My inlaws just went there with my three kids over the weekend. The food was all quite good. However, the service was atrocious. The wait was long to take the order, no one came back to ask how everything was and it took forever to get boxes to take the extra food and the check. They will not go back.

We have been going to Ricardo's for about 3 years. The food and service are always top notch. We have called and made reservations several times and have just been driving by and said lets eat at Ricardo's and even when busy find you a table. Keep up the great service!

The food was quite good, the server upbeat and helpful, the decor lovely. So why not 5 stars? Well, when you spend $24 for a seafood dish, you don't expect bay scallops the size of large peas or small shrimp you normally associate with Chinese shrimp fried rice. At these prices? It's a shame, though, because otherwise our experience was wonderful. We might go back for their pizza, which everyone seems to like, but certainly not for their seafood entrees.

My boyfriend and I used a restaurant.com certificate here the other day. We enjoyed all of our food, and our waiter was very nice. He did not give us any trouble about the certificate either. We shared the fried calamari appetizer, which was pretty good, a tad chewy, but with a great batter and a great tomato sauce. We also had Portuguese sodas, which was a fun change from our normal beverages. I had an entree of chicken pasta puttanesca and it was out of this world. I couldn't stop raving about it throughout the meal. My boyfriend had the lobster ravioli with crabmeat, which he also loved. We shared the coconut pudding for dessert, and it was a great choice. Very unique. A great meal overall!

I haven't given many one stars but this restaurant deserves it. We started off with the lobster bisque soup which tasted like it came from an expired can of Campbell's soup. The muscles in white sauce were very salty. And my entree, the paella mareinheira, was awful. On the bright side, our waitress was very nice.

It's been years since I've eaten at Ricardo's, but the one time I do remember eating there, my family and I were the only customers, and it was a slow, cold winter evening. I don't exactly remember how sophisticated my tastes were then, but having looked at their menu more in depth, I am definitely willing to go back and try it out again now that I have expanded my horizons. It may be in one of the most boring towns in Eastern PA, but it is on the main drag so it is definitely worth a try if you're looking for dining that is a step up from the hoagie shop, Dairy Queen, or Chinese food joint down the hill.

The service was slow. the pizza was good but my boyfriend's chicken was so salty it was almost unedible. I probably would not go eat here again. I might get their pizza for take-out but thats it.

Ricardo has amazing cheese steaks. It's known for it's pizza but the sandwiches are just as great. We also had a mozzarella and spinach panini which compared to the cheese steak was just good. Our server was very nice, patient and accommodating. The place is pretty small but we had enough room to move around if needed, unlike other reviews about having to talk low, we were gabbing away and people didn't seem to mind at all. The prices are pretty good for what you get as well.

The pizza is a little over priced, but good flavors and toppings, great crust. Service is horrible, so we do take out every once in a while. Unless they don't answer their phone to take our order, which has happened more than once. Rings 20 times then goes to voicemail on a Thursday night? Weird.

OK food... awfully pricey! Decided to go on a date with my husband and we got an appetizer, pizza, and entrees; total came out to about 80 bucks! Gotta say, the brick oven pizza wasn't all I expected! Nice place to go if you're in a jam.. love the BYOB!!

I can't say enough good things about the food and the service here! Whether it's something as practical as spaghetti and meatballs or something more exotic as Bitoque,Ricardo's always delivers a great meal. Make sure to bring a nice bottle of wine or some beer to enjoy the BYOB experience. The pricing is right, the portions are plenty so I highly recommend a visit to Ricardo's.

Notice there aren't many recent reviews?? My guess is anyone young enough to "yelp" doesn't come here! I live within walking distance - this was only my 2nd time here. Kinda know why.... Where to begin...if you're under ,say, 60 & [god forbid] have kids - maybe reconsider? Talk quiet, prepare to be stared at, & don't come hungry. Seems this is a neighborhood (-? Confusing because this is a nice neighborhood, yet place seemed "clicky") haunt that is very UNsocial-? Ashame- Our Food: house salads with balsamic vinaigrette = YUMMY! Soup of the day was great. Entrees - tilapia with crabmeat special- very good Steak & sirloin kabobs were fantastic Our kids had the ravioli & spaghetti & loved it. The service was SOOOO slowwww!!! With the kids entrees even slower than ours. Spaghetti - ??? How does that take longer than steak & fish dishes??? Anyway if not for the extremely slow service [at least 10 minutes before anyone even came to open our wine or offer drinks] & "stuffy" atmosphere this could be a really cute neighborhood go-to spot! Maybe one day..., for now... won't be back

servers here are very friendly. pizza, cheesesteaks, and the like are all delicious and good value for the money. the entrees seem a little pricey based on the amount of food but they're tasty as well. the restaurant itself is a little tight as far as spacing goes so its tough to hold a private conversation. overall still a good place to go.

This trip actually changed our minds. We've been here previously and it's been OK but not a favorite spot. We like it because its BYOB but the food left a lot to be desired. Looking for pizza this time with three different opinions so we went here because we remembered they had personal pizzas. Great decision. We had a plain, a sausage and a veggie and all were very good. On a Friday night the place was packed, which was nice to see, but tables are close so it got loud. My husband opted for the stuffed shrimp our neighbor was having. While the food was good my husband's shrimp was about half the size of this neighbor's which was somewhat upsetting. Calamari was a little overdone as well. Stick with the pizza and you'll be happy.

I have never had anything other than take-out pizza from Ricardo's, but I think it is absolutely delish, the prices are reasonable and the variety is awesome. Take out service is slow, but when you know that ahead of time, you plan accordingly.

My wife and I go here with my parents. We have never had a bad experience. The food is top notch as is the service. Wilber is a very attentive waiter and handles the flow of customers well. We were here this past Saturday and I had the filet mignon and shrimp. Dinner was prepared well and the portions are excellent. My wife had an excellent pizza. We had the Chorizo for an appetizer which was delicious. The menu is broad and encompasses a mix of Portuguese and Italian Cuisine. It's a BYOB which is a plus as I do not enjoy paying over inflated costs for wine and beer.

What a STRANGE dinner. My boyfriend and I came here on Saturday night and had a very strange experience. The food was decent, but the lighting and ambiance were just silly. Aside from the harsh lighting, the service was really slow. It took 15 minutes for the waiter to get to our table and another 15 for salads and water. From the time we ordered it took a half hour for our food to come. It was 8:45 and most of the people were finished eating. What was the hold up? The entire time we sat there we saw people go to the front counter to complain. One man was waiting an hour for an entree. I also saw the waiter serve 3 pizzas to a large table about 10 minutes apart. I don't know about you, but when I order food with a big table I expect it to come at the same time. While we were waiting for our main courses and were eating our salads the "new owner, Maria" came to greet us. This would have been fine had she SAID HELLO when she walked up to our table. Instead she stood there silently until we greeted her. AWKWARD. That the food is decent and it's a BYOB. That being said, I probably won't go back.

For the location and price Ricardo's is as good as it gets, and it's better than its pricier neighbors. My wife and I have been regulars ever since we moved to Abington from Philly and missed the availability of quirky, good places for casual eating on a busy schedule. Traditional Italian fare, the Portuguese items, the custom pizzas, and regular Philly favorites...yeah, cheese steaks, make Ricardo's a great place to bring visiting relatives or just handle your current mood. Nothing we've tried has been off the mark. And the staff is friendly and always courteous and helpful. Maybe not Nobu, but 4-stars as a superior neighborhood restaurant.

This one was of the first restaurants I ate at when I moved into the neighborhood and it's been become a regular stop for me now. Excellent food and great pizzas! It's hard for me to get past how great their brick oven pizzas are, but they offer great pasta dishes (I always go for the linguini with sausage, peppers and onions), excellent specials and it really has a neat atmosphere with the exposed brick interior. The deck out back is perfect in the summer time. I'm lucky to live so close to such a great establishment.

Amazing from beginning to end. Wanted to go to a new restaurant so we typed in "Mediterranean" on Google Maps and were brought to this place. It isn't far from my house and although it wasn't what we asked for initially, we decided to give it a try. Went to this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and wasn't sure which building it was because it is right on the corner. When we got there, we were seated immediately. The ambiance is great and during our meal, the server gave us a little history about how old the place actually was. (Dating back to the Mid- 1700's). The meal was great. I got Lobster Ravioli and my friend got Tortellini. Bread was warm and Caesar salad was good as well. Everything was timely and to our standards. Prices were normal. (Whole meal totaling $34.76) We left a great tip. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Just really really mediocre food. Everything we had I could have very easily made at home myself significantly better. Acceptable service and no one getting food poisoning saved them from a 1 star rating. The only reason to go here is if you want to see the world's smallest shrimp.

First time there. Beautiful but small inside. My wife and I both ordered personal pizza's. good service and EXCELLENT PUZZA. Will have to go for dinner on night. Menu looks great.

I grew up in Bryn Athyn when Ricardos took over the former "Cheese Shop." I've been visiting yearly ever since. The food, especially their pizza, has always been great. The building is beautiful and the staff have always been friendly. The food costs are a bit higher than your suburban food costs, but I can get over that if the food and service are great. Unfortunately, the latter is not. Every time I've been to Ricardo's we always order at least one, if not two pizzas. In some cases we do order salads and or apps. It feels like an eternity until the pizza arrives. Last time I actually clocked it at 56 minutes. The time prior was over an hour. I've gone at varying times (lunch, early dinner, late dinner) and service has always been so slow. The food receives 5 starts, but the service is a 2 or 3 at best. If the service was better I would be back more often. I have yet to visit again this year as it's hard to set aside 2+ hours for dinner, plus the drive there and back.

Honestly, this place was a disappointment. We ordered the caprese salad, and it was the smallest and most pathetic thing I've ever seen. They presented us with 5 tiny tomatoes with the smallest pieces of mozzarella I've ever seen. The onion rings were obviously from a box. The sunrise pizza was OK, but not wonderful. The service was fair. Nothing annoys me more than being overcharged for small portions- and this place certainly did...

Had this place deliver food for a business meeting. Have to say I am less than impressed, as are my colleagues. We had salads and pizzas. The pizza just had a terrible look, and an even worse taste. The salad was wilted, and there was an abnormal amount of water at the bottom of the container. Heard great things about this place here on yelp, however i must disagree and say that I will not be back.

++++WE WERE ASKED HOW LONG UNTIL YOU LEAVE++++ We just went there last night, a party of 8 made a reservation 2 days in advance. It's our local go to place, food usually good. Food was also good this time, but service was rude and terrible this time! Firs
